Judy worked in the staffing industry for 17 years in major markets in cities like New York, Boston, Denver, and Washington, DC before starting CityStaff in 1997. She has fulfilled various roles within staffing, but her favorite by far was that of Staffing Associate, where she was directly involved in the service of both clients and candidates.
She is dedicated to making sure candidates and clients know that the CityStaff team takes the time to understand who they are and what they need. She created CityStaff to improve the experience of making a hire, or getting a job. "We do business in a special way. The way clients and candidates want it to be done." Controlling this unique environment which links talented candidates with terrific opportunities gives her tremendous satisfaction.
Originally from Trumbull, Connecticut, Judy received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Providence College. That career in medicine just never took off! Judy lives in Virginia and is an enthusiastic patron of the arts, enjoying performances in music, theater and galleries. She has a keen eye for design, as evidenced in the CityStaff offices. If Judy is not working, or decorating her home, she can probably be found in her other passion - shopping!
Judy is very active in the community and is a board member of the National Coalition of Cancer Survivorship, a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the Washington, DC Board of Trade and GWSAE. Judy successfully completed the American Staffing Association’s Employment Law Accreditation course and is a Certified Staffing Professional.
Born in Switzerland but having lived right outside of DC for most of his life, Chris is as close to being a DC native as there is. After graduating from Furman University in South Carolina with a degree in Political Science, Chris came back home and started working at a lobbying firm. He then spent the next five years at a non-profit organization as the Recruiter and Marketing Coordinator. Starting as a Recruiting Associate with CityStaff, Chris was successful recruiting candidates from many of Washington’s colleges and universities as well as returning Peace Corp Volunteers. Most recently Chris has moved into the position of CityStaff’s Business Manager where he is responsible for administrative activities including payroll, invoicing, analyzing reports and assisting in the preparation of RFPs.
As a Washingtonian, Chris loves the ‘Skins and Nationals and can be seen playing softball on the National Mall every spring and summer. Chris also has a soft spot in his heart for bacon, Bon Jovi, Vince Flynn novels and his wife.
Alison is originally from Upstate New York and has called the Washington DC area home for the last 12+ years. She started her career in higher education in Admissions and Career Services and subsequently moved into recruiting full time. She has experience recruiting for professional service and administrative positions as well as communications and creative roles. Alison also spent time working as an IT Recruiter placing individuals in the financial and government services industry. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Fredonia University.
Alison loves exploring the restaurant scene in DC. She is an avid NATS and CAPS fan, where she also evaluates various versions of Buffalo Wings – since she knows what the original ones really taste like! Her favorite time however is spent with her family in Upstate New York and visiting her sister and her young family in Atlanta.
Olivia is a recent graduate of Elon University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, and moved to Washington DC thinking she would work at one of the city's beautiful museums. Instead, Olivia started doing temporary work through CityStaff for an Executive Search firm and working part time in the CityStaff office. In a short period of time, it became evident, Olivia was a natural fit for a staffing position. In her role as Staffing and Client Associate, Olivia helps to place candidates on assignments and says "nothing is better than connecting great candidates with great clients and wonderful opportunities."
Olivia is from Durham North Carolina and embraces her southern heritage – especially the food! She loves to cook and bake desserts, most frequently from family recipes that have been handed down through generations. Olivia loves everything musical and takes advantage of the many concerts and theater performances DC offers.
