At CityStaff, we hire smart, dedicated individuals and provide them with an enjoyable work environment where they are empowered to contribute to the enhancement of our business. Our unique business model ensures that all CityStaff employees, regardless of job function, meet and get to know the candidates and clients we serve. That way, our whole team is looking for you!

Judy Chudars, President

Judy Chudars, PresidentJudy worked in the staffing industry for 17 years in major markets in cities like New York, Boston, Denver, and Washington, DC before starting CityStaff in 1997. She has fulfilled various roles within staffing, but her favorite by far was that of Staffing Associate, where she was directly involved in the service of both clients and candidates.

She is dedicated to making sure candidates and clients know that the CityStaff team takes the time to understand who they are and what they need. She created CityStaff to improve the experience of making a hire, or getting a job. "We do business in a special way. The way clients and candidates want it to be done." Controlling this unique environment which links talented candidates with terrific opportunities gives her tremendous satisfaction.

Originally from Trumbull, Connecticut, Judy received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Providence College. That career in medicine just never took off! Judy lives in Virginia and is an enthusiastic patron of the arts, enjoying performances in music, theater and galleries. She has a keen eye for design, as evidenced in the CityStaff offices. If Judy is not working, or decorating her home, she can probably be found in her other passion - shopping!

Judy is very active in the community and is a board member of the National Coalition of Cancer Survivorship, a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the Washington, DC Board of Trade and GWSAE. Judy successfully completed the American Staffing Association’s Employment Law Accreditation course and is a Certified Staffing Professional.

Maura Shea, Staffing Manager

Maura Shea, Staffing ManagerMaura moved to DC from her home state of Connecticut to study Anthropology at George Washington University. A testament to the benefits of temporary employment, Maura landed her first position after College at a staffing company where she was a temporary employee during school. She was progressively promoted before following her passion for party planning as an event planner at the American Institute of Architects. After several years, she found herself ready for a new challenge and realized she missed staffing – and we’re glad she did! Having had staffing experience, Maura was familiar with CityStaff’s reputation and was sure it would be a good fit.

Maura came to CityStaff as the Communications Manager in 2006 and moved on to her current position as Staffing Manager the following year. Her favorite parts about working at CityStaff are being encouraged to be creative and think outside the box, never having a dull moment, the great team atmosphere, and our shared focus on clients and employees.

Maura loves her yellow lab, Bones, and is currently campaigning for him to be our official CityStaff mascot. She also is an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the TV show, Mad Men, and all things Indiana Jones related. Maura is a member of IIAP and The Greater Washington Board of Trade.

Ashlee Nelson, Office Manager

Ashlee Nelson, Office ManagerAshlee moved to DC from the back woods of Pennsylvania, hoping to find more diversity and an opportunity to use her Spanish language skills. Being totally lost in a new city, Ashlee found her way to CityStaff! Unsure of her next step, she figured that temping was a great way to learn about the city and get some varied experiences. Her interaction with CityStaff reminded her of the small town hospitality to which she was accustomed, and she eagerly accepted the opportunity to become part of the CityStaff team as the Office Manager. Ashlee keeps the office running smoothly and is often busy with payroll and billing.

Ashlee believes CityStaff has a special flair that attracts exceptional candidates and clients. She loves the relationships and the sense of community that CityStaff creates among our candidates and clients. It reminds her of a small town in the midst of a big city.

Since moving to DC in February of 2007, Ashlee has continued her quest to be involved in environmentally friendly activities, while reminding others of how important it is to be “green”.

She loves to travel, be outdoors, and explore the many cultures that are present in Washington, DC.
